Dale Miller - “Choppy”
First and foremost I am a sinner saved by the grace of God who should be praised for all things. I praise Him for Melissa, my wife of 29 years, my two children, Cassidy and Brice, and my grandson Ryder. He also receives praise for the many others in my life who keep me on the straight and narrow.
I am retired from NC Public Schools as an exceptional children’s teacher and elementary school administrator. Currently I am working at a charter school for middle and high school students as the exceptional children’s coordinator. I have been teaching driver’s education for over 20 years in both the public high schools and commercial school settings. While teaching driver's education, I have had the opportunity to both teach the classroom and drive 1000’s of students. While doing this, we always have a goal of returning from our drive safely while learning how to navigate our roads safely, legally, and efficiently. I have also been officiating recreation, high school, and college sports for over 30 years. The sports I enjoy officiating the most are fastpitch softball and volleyball.
During my free time, I enjoy fishing, hunting, and helping others. Offshore fishing is my favorite but a nice relaxing fishing trip down a slow moving river or creek isn’t bad either. Hunting trips usually do not prove to be fruitful with a harvest, but as I get older, I realize it is not about harvesting an animal but the smaller things.
