Frequently Asked Questions

You will  need to take at least 6 hours of driving before you can take your driving test. Our instructors will work with you to create a personalized training plan that meets your needs and helps you feel confident behind the wheel.

You will need to bring comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes, and any necessary vision correction devices (such as glasses or contact lenses). We will provide the vehicle for your driving lessons.

Yes, you must turn 14 and a half before the class begins to enroll in Choppy's Driving Academy.  

Once a student completes driver’s education with us and has reached the age of 15 they may apply for a Limited Learner’s Permit at the North Carolina DMV. They will need the following: 

1. Certified Birth Certificate 
2. Social Security Card  
3. Drivers Education Certificate  
4. High School Eligibility Form "DEC"(Valid for 30 days only) - Driver's Eligibility Certificate must be obtained from High school attending 
5. Proof of Residency 
6. Parent or Guardian
